ABOUT THE SHOW:
“Seasonal Allergies” is a story about a group of friends in their late 30’s getting together during the holiday season. Julia and Thomas are a successful and quirky couple living in NY with their karate-loving child, Charlie. Julia, a professional chef, loves hosting their friend group for all of the important holidays. Alison, a no-nonsense and very pregnant lawyer and her florist, football-loving husband JD love to come over and eat all of their delicious food. Julia’s brother Pete, a neurotic yet…loveable? dentist, has not been around lately due to grappling with his recent divorce; yet when he finally decides to make a return to the group, hilarity ensues…especially when he steals a Christmas tree from Julia and Thomas’ neighbor’s yard, who just so happens to be a young widow.

Auditions will be held on the Mercer County Community College West Windsor Campus in the Communications Building in room CM164. Check the Kelsey Theatre sign board for a room location on the day of your audition.
MCCC is located at 1200 Old Trenton Rd, West Windsor NJ 08550.

REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will begin shortly after the show is cast during the weekend of 9/12-9/14. Exact schedule TBD, but expect rehearsals 1-2 times per week (weekends are a possibility depending on conflicts.)
Rehearsals will be a hybrid schedule of 1 day Google Meet per week and 1-2 day in person rehearsal (depending on conflicts)
We can accommodate all observed holidays during the season

CHARACTER INFORMATION:
---Julia Shelby - She/her, Any race,30’s-40’s; organized, diplomatic and kind professional chef and owner of a local restaurant in West Chester, NY. Mother of Charlie, wife of Thomas, and protective and loving older sister of Pete.
---Thomas Shelby - He/him, Any race, 30’s-40’s; friendly and warm web/graphic designer who works from home and developed and sold an extremely popular mobile gaming app. Father of Charlie, husband of Julia, and best friend of Pete…although he’s a bit wounded by Pete’s recent absence from friend group gatherings.
---Charlie Shelby - Any gender, Any race, 8-10; precocious, funny and energetic child who loves karate and having heart to heart talks with their neurotic uncle. They have strong relationships with all of the adults. Young actor must have good comedic timing.
---Pete Dumbowski - He/him, Any race, 30’s; socially awkward but sweet dentist who is in the midst of a year-long divorce. Julia’s younger brother, who kind of overstays his welcome in their home. He struggles to find his footing after his marriage falls apart.
---J.D. Cusimano - He/him, Any race, 30’s-40’s; playful, loud and funny guy who runs his family’s flower shop. Husband of Alison, and first time expectant father-to-be.
---Alison Cusimano - She/her, Any race,30’s-40’s; pragmatic, non-nonsense, and witty lawyer who is 8 months into a slightly unexpected pregnancy…and despite her complaining, she’s loving it. Wife of J.D. and impromptu divorce lawyer so she can help get Pete’s house back…to use his pool.
---Emily Cantwell - She/her, Any race, 30’; Kind, sweet, and witty neighbor to the Shelby’s, who meets and connects with Pete under slightly odd circumstances.
